Re-evaluate Goals - Brush yourself off and continue

Have you ever noticed babies learning to walk? Those first few steps are unsure, shaky and definitely scary but it does not matter how many times they fall down, they get right back up and continue on their journey.

Ok its day 25 in 2013 and you may be feeling like the baby making its first steps with regards to your New Year's resolution. You may have already fallen flat on your face but I have good news for you.  Please don't stay there; pick yourself up, brush yourself off, smile and say to yourself "I can do this; I can accomplish my goal(s)".

It's re-evaluation time. Now make yourself a promise that you can keep. Set GOALS that are achievable and sustainable.
  • Want to feel healthier?
  • Less aches and pains?
  • Less sick days?
  • More energy?
  • Quality family time?
  • Increase your wealth?
Here are a couple of simple things you can do:
  1. Eat less processed Foods (read the labels; if the list is long and has ingredients ending in 'ites' or 'ates')
  2. Eat more fruits and vegetables (shop from the perimeter of the store)
  3. Eat less sugar (reduce or eliminate sodas, juices)
Remember this is a life long commitment, a journey. You don't have to give up everything you love, on the contrary,  just start adding some natural fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds (wholefoods) in to your diet. Once you start to incorporate more of those things, some of the other less healthy things may just start dropping off the list.

When your health is good it affects your wealth; lower health insurance cost and fewer doctor's visit. You decide!

New Year, New Lease

Happy New Year!!!
Many people have begun 2013 with new resolutions....whether they follow through or not, they began with good intentions. Good intention is just what it is....once we've set our intentions, we must make a commitment to bring our intentions to fruition.

More than 50% of the resolutions made are to lose weight, get fit or get healthy. For each of these the desired outcome will not take place overnight, it requires time, effort, commitment and a plan.
God has given us one body (the Holy Spirit's temple) and he requires us to be good stewards.  "Dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health physically just as you are spiritually" 3 John 1:2 (HCSB). This process comes through lifestyle changes.

Making lifestyle changes is never easy; our bodies (brain included) are designed to resist change. Therefore, we must strive to change our thinking regarding food, exercise and lifestyle. Strive to make small, incremental changes and you will experience positive results over a period of time. Some of the changes may include:
  • Drinking more water
  • Drinking less canned/bottled drinks which contains sugars and other additives.
  • Adding more greens/vegetables and whole foods into your diet
  • Eating less processed/packaged foods
Another thing is to become familiar with food labels and make a conscious effort to read the label before you purchase the item. This will transform your shopping experience. If you need help with food labels, please email me ladymimz@gmail.com to arrange a shopping session.
